I produced this untitled action for the Terreno Peligroso/Danger Zone project, a gathering between Mexican and Chicanx artists that I organized in collaboration with Josephine Ramírez and Guillermo Gómez Peña in Mexico City and Los Angeles.

The work consisted of washing the feet of the other ten participating artists with blood and water. Dealing with two communities often defined by their inability to understand each other, my intention was to create a clean space that could symbolically facilitate a dialogue between both sides, while analyzing the different cultural reactions that a Catholic ritual of humility could elicit in artists from both sides of the border.
