ALIENATION

Based on the two meanings of the word alien—extraterrestrial and immigrant—, Alienation intended to reveal the fear of the cultural, social, political, and sexual invasion that existed at the time in the United States regarding Mexican migrants.

In the work I resorted to two stereotypes: that of the iconic Mexicana—a sexual and exotic object—and that other of the archetypal alien that, among other things, sensually devoured a cake modeled as a map of the United States. The audio consisted of rap combined with dialogues and sounds extracted from alien blockbuster movies.
